    Nina Negri

Nina Negri grew up between France and Italy. After studying philosophy, she joined the Rencontres Internationales de Danse Contemporaine de Paris and the European programme of the Ecole des Maîtres. She continued her studies at the Venice Theatre Biennale with Jan Lauwers, and at the Accademia Dimitri in performance and contemporary scenic arts. As an actor and performer, she has worked with Thomas Ostermeier, Barbara Nicolier, Cesar Brie, Massimo Furlan, Cie The Moors, El Conde de Torrefiel, Ricci/Forte and Giorgio Rossi, among others.

In 2018 she graduated from the Master Mise en scène at the Haute école des arts de la scène La Manufacture. That same year, she founded the company AlmaVenus, with whom she imagines evolving devices that approach the relationship with spectators in a sensory way and question the friction between the power and potency of images. By putting cinematographic montage-thinking to the test on the stage, Nina creates objects with a multiplicity of voices running through them, thwarting the dominant point of view of the materials on which they are based.

After several collective works such as "Carto-graphies de corps migrants", "GirlisaGun" and "Adèle H.", she will present "M. la Multiple" in 2019 (her final show) and create "Sous Influence" in 2021 at the Théâtre de Vidy-Lausanne (on tour in Switzerland and at the Impatience festival in Paris). The same year, she took part in the Théâtre des futurs possibles in connection with the cycle of investigations led by the philosopher Vinciane Despret, with the performance "Dog Streams". At the same time, Nina Negri is giving master's and bachelor's courses at the Haute école des arts de la scène in Lausanne, teaching Butoh dance, and running theatre-dance laboratories for children and teenagers in schools and associations.

In 2023/24 she will be presenting her next show, Violence Forest, co-written with Laura Den Hondt and Marion Stoufflet, at the Théâtre de Vidy-Lausanne, the Théâtre de la Cité Internationale in Paris and the Comédie de Genève.
