    Jérôme Stünzi

1981, lives in Biel/Bienne, works in Biel/Bienne and Geneva.

A visual artist and scenographer, his practice is multidisciplinary and evolving. His work is characterized by an awareness of space and volume, a tension between shapes, colors and textures, and a playful approach to contemporary tragedies. Jérôme Stünzi's work thus composes a poetic universe that is at once peaceful and irritating, artificial and elemental. Since 2011, his work has been shown in numerous museums, galleries and Offspace. Together with Marius Schaffter, he founded the Old Masters collective, which Sarah André joined a year later. Since 2014, they have been appropriating and rearranging the most varied discourses and practices, whether banal or expert, whether artistic, scientific, political or everyday. Conceiving theatrical performance as a total plastic work, they create universes with powerful, unusual and radical aesthetics. Using their favorite weapons - the absurd, sincerity, benevolence, irony, beauty, sadness and gentleness - Old Masters invites us to collectively experience what freedom could be today, a freedom that is situated, changing and always in search of itself.
