Become a Stage technician

To enrol on the CFC as Stage technician in the performing arts, applicants must have completed compulsory schooling and obtained an apprenticeship contract with an approved firm.

The apprentice is an employee of the theatre or firm to which they are affiliated. They therefore receive a wage, which increases each year as their training progresses.

To work in the performing arts, it is indispensable:

  • to have a real passion for the stage and culture, particularly theatre, dance and/or music;
  • to like technical subjects, particularly maths and electricity. IT is becoming increasingly important in this field;
  • to like working irregular hours, sometimes at night and weekends (while others are on leave);
  • to show independence, enjoy working in a team and bringing projects to fruition;
  • to have completed placements or worked for a cultural venue, festival or service provider, as proof of your commitment.

Detailed information can be found on the website of the professional association ARTOS responsible for organising the course.
