Exchange students

La Manufacture accepts exchange requests for all its courses: Bachelor in Contemporary Dance, Bachelor in Theatre and Master in Theatre, stage direction and scenography orientations.

Framework conditions for exchanges – SEMP

The Swiss programme for Erasmus+ currently in force in the higher education sector is called Swiss-European Mobility Programme (SEMP). It offers students from European universities the possibility of studying at La Manufacture for a period of one to two semesters (three to twelve months).

Only students regularly enrolled in an institution of higher artistic education recognized under the SEMP framework are eligible. An inter-institutional exchange agreement must be organized between the institution of origin and La Manufacture before the exchange

Students residing outside the Schengen area are invited to contact us in order to find out about the possible arrangements.

Study taxes and scholarships

Exchange students are exempted from all study taxes at La Manufacture, as these are already paid at their home institution. Students receive a mobility grant for the duration of their stay, which is financed by the Swiss State. This does not constitute a full scholarship but serves to cover the increased cost of living

Visas et residence permits

Incoming students are required to inform themselves directly with the competent authorities.
For non-EU/EFTA nationals, it is important to check whether a visa is required sufficiently in advance, as the procedure should be started about 4 months before the beginning of the stay. More information.
Upon arrival in Switzerland, students must register with the Cantonal Office of Population and Migration (OCPM) in order to apply for a residence permit. It takes a few weeks before the permit is issued. More information.

Insurance

Foreign students must make sure before their arrival in Switzerland that they are sufficiently covered during their stay in case of illness and accident. It is possible to be exempted from the insurance obligation, as long as the student has equivalent insurance coverage. More information.

Course of the study stay

A learning agreement is drawn up to define the training framework and the recognition of ECTS credits.
Exchange students receive an official student card from La Manufacture. During this period, they benefit from the same rights and are subject to the same obligations as regular students at the university.
The hosting period is attested and a transcript of grades and credits corresponding to each teaching unit is given to foreign students at the end of their study stay at La Manufacture.

Admission requirements

The study programmes are designed around each class of students, which progresses together in its course of study and concludes its trajectory with work in complete autonomy. For these reasons, no exchanges are possible in the final year, and each study programme has special conditions for accepting applicants.

Please read carefully the conditions defined below for the study program you are considering.
