The dancer and choreographer, who graduated from the Bachelor in Contemporary Dance in 2017, has just won a scholarship worth CHF 5,000 for her project "Camille".
Each year, a jury of professionals appointed by the Swiss Society of Authors (SSA) awards grants to support the creation of new original choreographic works by independent Swiss dance companies.
Among the 24 projects submitted to the competition, Sarah Bucher's Camille was awarded in the category "emerging choreographers". The piece is inspired by a memory, that of a young girl met in an institution for children in difficulty. It is the observations made of her body and the states she was going through that prompted the choreographer to create this piece.
