    Jeanine Durning

Jeanine Durning is Guggenheim Fellow and Alpert Award winning choreographer and performer from New York, whose work has been described by The New Yorker as having the “potential for philosophical revelation and theatrical disaster.” She has been creating evening-length choreographies since the late 90’s. Her work has been presented at venues such as Sadler’s Wells/London, Dansens Hus/Stockholm, BAM Opera House, Danspace Project, The Chocolate Factory Theater, and Dance Theater Workshop, both as an independent artist and as a commissioned artist for companies such as Toronto Dance Theatre, Norrdans, and Candoco Dance Company. Her critically and audience acclaimed solo, inging (based on her practice of “nonstopping”) has been widely recognized for its expanded
notion of choreography, blurring artistic and aesthetic boundaries, and exploring the structures and phenomenology of thought in extemporaneous movement and speech.
