    Laure Pichat

At the age of 9, Laure experienced her first theatrical shock at a performance of ‘Richard II’ directed by Ariane Mnouchkine in Avignon. Four years later she did a internship at the Lyon Opera and discovered the performing arts. It was then that she knew she wanted to become a scenographer.

She went on to study at the Paris la Villette School of Architecture, graduating in 2006 with a DPLG diploma. At the same time, she pursued her approach to theatre through acting at the Maison Jean Ravier, and took courses at the Performing Arts Faculty in Nanterre before enrolling at ENSATT in stage design.

The multi-disciplinary nature of the school enabled her to meet actors, writers and theatre technicians. It was here that the Compagnie du Bonhomme was formed, with whom she created her first stage designs for plays directed by Marie-Sophie Ferdane and Grégoire Monsaingeon.

She then met Claudia Stavisky, Vincent Colin, Thierry Roisin and Jean-Yves Ruf. She has worked with the latter regularly in theatre and opera since 2003.

At the same time, Laure continues to work as an architect, building and renovating homes and designing furniture for private clients.
