    Lorenzo Vayssière

Lorenzo Vayssière, aka ‘Sweet’, is a dancer-poet-performer born in Eaubonne in the Val d'Oise, where he made his debut at the age of 15. His work is mainly based on b-boying, a common practice from which he extricates himself to achieve singularity and absolute fulfilment in his art. This has given him the pure character of his dance, based on a percussive know-how between the appropriation of opposing states and energies, the quality of execution of the movement and the art of making it breathe, or dancing life, its ups and downs, with enthusiasm.
Since 2007, he has been an active member of Bad Trip, one of France's most atypical dance groups of all styles. He also joined Sans Limite in 2010, a group characterised by its activism in the battles scene, and which brings together b-boys from Paris and Troyes. Continuing his quest to surpass himself, in 2013 Lorenzo joined the Black Sheep urban/contemporary dance company, founded by Saïdo ‘Darwin’ Lehlouh and Johanna Faye. He danced in Wild Cat, Apaches and, more recently, Témoin.
His constant and profound reflection on existential themes such as Art, the Human Being, Authenticity and Love, is a testament to his open-mindedness and the otherness of his approach, which is first and foremost personal, but also collective, as long as it provides him with the necessary keys to transmission. In 2016, he joined Philippe ‘Physs’ Almeida's Mouvmatik teaching team, teaching b-boying at L'AID (Académie Internationale de la Danse, Paris).
Lorenzo also works with Cedric ‘Stylez C’ Borges, co-founder of The Art Way movement: a project that aims to help dancers make the most of their differences, starting first and foremost with their personality and their body. The idea is to make people aware of the links between different dance styles and their proximity to art, so that they can open up to other aesthetics and learn to understand each other better. The Art Way aims to act as a gateway to this dynamic, bringing together multi-disciplinary artists from France, Switzerland and Russia. The movement is associated with the hashtag #theartwaygalery, which itself lists all kinds of inspiring art, so that there's something for everyone. The Art Way frees dancers from their inhibitions through a range of workshops and by working with companies in residency, such as Compagnie Kh, founded by Karim Khouader.
Lorenzo's creativity, combined with his strong identity, led to him being affiliated in 2017 with Anne Nguyen's company Par Terre, with whom he took part in the creative process of the play Kata and with whom he carried out various cultural actions.
In 2019, with a new artistic impetus in mind, he founded Selected View with Rowdy ‘Legove’ Lewing: a platform that brings together b-boys with the same artistic vision, in search of a state of grace through an approach to the unknown and the magic of the present moment.
Since 2020, Lorenzo has been based in Geneva, Switzerland, where he began working as a breakdance teacher for The Get Down School, a school specialising in urban dance. He organised his first event in October 2020 in Montreux: Tape Into It, a 1vs1 dance battle with an exhibition and interdisciplinary cyphers.
In 2021, he joined a local crew called Light Of The Underground and also began teaching breakdance at Centre IMPRO, a creative hip-hop dance school.
Lorenzo has also worked as an artistic consultant, educational coordinator and breakdance teacher at the Urban Move Academy since 2022, where he is also Nicolas Musin's creative assistant.
