    Stefan Hort

Stefan Hort was born in the Swiss Alps. As soon as he finished college, he moved to Berlin, where he trained on the job at several theaters, including Deutsches Theater and Sophiensæle. He then crossed the Atlantic to attend the National Theatre School of Canada in Montreal. After graduating, he returned to Europe to complete a Master's degree in Performance Studies at the Universities of Brussels and Frankfurt am Main, which he completed in 2011.

Since then, Stefan has been developing his practice as a director and creator, alternating between his own projects, within compagnie.sh, and collaborations with other artists and companies. His signature approach is to bring different performing arts disciplines together on stage, with a particular penchant for the crossover between theater and contemporary circus. He also occasionally acts as an outsider or guest director on various projects. In 2018, his artistic commitment was recognized with the Prix d'Encouragement from the Service de la Culture of the State of Valais.

A few years later, in the midst of the COVID pandemic that reshuffled the cards, he decided to take up a new challenge by taking over the direction of Le Spot, the theatrical hub of the city of Sion that now brings together the Théâtre de Valère and the Petithéâtre.
